Tomorrow would have been your 45th birthday, but you will remain forever 42. My birthday is the day after yours, I will be 67, however I feel that my life stopped when yours did.

It will soon be October and time for 'our' birthday again. I miss the joy you brought to me, and to everyone who knew you. xxx

This is the second Mother's Day without my beautiful, amazing girl. Today I took all the cards you sent me over the years and put them up around the living room, remembering the happy times we had together. You may not be with me this Mother's Day, but I will always be your mother.

It's now January 2024 and I'm facing another year without my beautiful girl. You were my joy and my inspiration, I feel lost and adrift since you left us. It hasn't got any easier and probabably never will. So I just keep plodding on, one day after another, wearing my cloak of invisible sadness, trying to maintain a cheerful facade for others. When the feelings of loss are almost too unbearable, I try to remember the happy times - your face when we went to Bruges, seeing all the Christmas fairy lights, that little 'Whoop' you always made when excited. There will never be anyone like you.

Helen, we wished we lived closer to each other, unfortunately due to work etc. it just wasn't possible - your life was in Wisbech and mine was up North. But I looked forward to the day I could retire and be free to spend more time with you. We were going to visit Downton Abbey, go on on a holiday to Malta, take a cruise down the Rhine. - we had so many plans. And now that I am finally retired, you're not here to do any of those things with me.

We met Helen and James through a friends group she was instrumental in setting up. From the outset, Helen was vibrant, bubbly, friendly and so very approachable, she made you feel so very welcome, her bubbly personality, her infectious giggle, her larger than life character, you could not help but be drawn to her. Always working to forward herself, always striving to improve, be better, get better, yet she was simply perfect as she was... It was truly an honour hosting and celebrating Helen and James wedding blessing at our home, such memories we will always cherish. I spent many personal moments with Helen leading up to this terribly sad event, and one thing she desperately wanted to do was send personal messages to her closest and dearest friends, she wasn't able as time forbad her, but she asked me to tell them just how very special they were to her, how much she loved and cared for and appreciated them, and how she would always look over them with love, support and protection.. Helen is a remarkable young woman whom it was our utmost privilege to know and have in our lives, she was a beacon of positivity and a true example to us all. She will not only be remembered, but loved, respected, held in awe and admired forever.. My boys will take good care of you honey, and so will Barry.... raise one to us.... Love you lady... Always will, and we will look after James as promised Forever your dearest friend.. xxx

Helen – an irrepressible force of nature, who blazed across the sky like a comet – and then was gone. Never to be forgotten.
